Acoustics: The Littmann Lightweight stethoscope is part of a line of finely crafted instruments. A solid aluminum chestpiece featuring two-sided traditional design (for an illustration, please click here) eliminates sound loss from loose-fitting parts. A patented floating diaphragm assures acoustic sensitivity and consistent high-frequency response. And a large open bell provides greater sensitivity to low-frequency sounds. In addition, the tubing is made of durable, long-life PVC instead of standard rubber which can stiffen and crack. And it's designed as a single tube to optimize acoustic response and provide better sound transmission than separate, bulky tubes.
Comfort: The Littmann Lightweight stethoscope is designed to be comfortable both for you and your patients. The eartips are soft, and the eartubes are set at the correct anatomical angle so they don't need readjusting. The headset tension adjusts easily by simply flexing the yoke. The chestpiece diaphragm and bell is rimmed with a special nonchill material that your patients will appreciate. And all these features come at a price that's comfortable in one other place as well - your pocketbook.
Durability: For all its lightweight comfort, the Lightweight stethoscope is durable. The patented double-leaf binaural spring, which maintains proper headset tension, is contained inside the tubing-unlike Sprague-Rappaport-type scopes-to ensure a longer life and complete acoustical seal.
Warranty: The Lightweight stethoscope is backed by a two year warranty. The warranty is provided by 3M Health Care.
